RIP Bojangles and other ramblings.

My old laptop recently died. It was a Lenovo ThinkPad and was running Windows XP and Ubuntu. His name was Bojangles, and I had him for about 5 years before he completely refused to turn on.

Bojangles has been replaced but certainly not forgotten. My mother purchased a new Dell Inspiron 15 for me. He has been named Wolf Blitzer by my roommate and already there is a "situation" with him. I'm sort of an audiophile and I have collected a vast amount of mp3's over the years, all legally rest assured. Unfortunately, I must be an idiot when it comes to transferring music files to iTunes from my external hard drive. I remember that it even took me a few tries, several drinks and moaning sessions to transfer my files to my hard drive in the first place and then to make iTunes actually run from it. So I downloaded iTunes and after a few hours of frustration, I decided to try a new, more Windows friendly software, Songbird. I think I made the situation worse. In the fury of the moment, I uninstalled both software and deleted all of my songs. Fantastic. Note to self, no more software trial and error when hormonal. So I have to make a decision about which music player I want to use and then start my library collection afresh. Oh well, it's an excuse to purchase more CD's.

Oh, and so far, so not liking Windows 7. I miss my Ubuntu. I love the layout. I got super familiar with it, and I don't want to change. I could download it again, but Minecraft works on my new laptop which was the whole reason for downloading Linux in the first place. Sadly Netflix doesn't work on Linux, or iTunes, but since I'm not using that at the moment it shouldn't be a factor. Ugh, decisions, decisions.
